I started my professional photography career during the summer of 1996 while working in a one-hour photo lab as a part-time job. A client asked if I knew of a photographer that could shoot a wedding for the coming weekend. I eagerly volunteered to be the photographer for the wedding, and from that moment in time, I subconsciously began my photography career. I didn't anticipate photography as a career because I was going to school to pursue a degree in landscape architecture at the University of Idaho. Nevertheless, I continued to photograph weddings and events during every summer I had off from school.

As my academic career progressed, I became more involved in photography at the university level becoming the photography editor for the school newspaper. In addition, I was asked to photograph sporting events for the athletic department for their recruiting publications and media guides. After graduation, I relocated and worked in a landscape architecture and planning firm and had the opportunity to photograph a variety of architectural elements for the company's project portfolio. During that time, I was able to integrate the photography with graphic design to create marketing material to promote the company. Looking back to the successful creations for that company, and the many other clients that I worked with while in school, it became apparent to me that my true passion is photography and graphic design which I continue to currently pursue.
